FALL RIVER: Luiz F. Ferreira, 92, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, July 01, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, after a period of declining health.  He was the former husband of the late Lorraine R. (Antil) Ferreira, and the son of the late Manuel F. Ferreira and Adelaide (Sousa) Ferreira.

Mr. Ferreira was a lifelong resident of New Bedford, He was a WWII Veteran, also a disabled veteran.
He worked as a Machine Operator at Morse Tool MFG. Co., until his retirement. A parishioner of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a member of the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament, American Legion, and the Veterans Affairs of Buttonwood Park.

He survived by three sons Luiz J. Ferreira of Forestdale, MA, Frank Ferreira and Steven D. Ferreira, both of New Bedford, a daughter Cynthia M. Bassett of Rochester, MA, two brothers Arthur Ferreira of Westport and Francis Ferreira of Rochester, MA, a sister Eva Antil of Connecticut. Also survived by four grandsons, one granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Ronald Ferreira, brother of the late Manuel and Ernest Ferreira, Hilda Gaboriault, and Lucy Ferreira.

His visiting hours will be Sunday, July 07, 2019 from 4 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday at 8 AM at the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at the Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.

In lieu of flowers a donation in his memory to the Disable American Veterans.
