MARION; Mrs. Marilyn Rae (Cunningham) Pacheco, 86, passed peacefully into eternal life on August 14, 2019 after a period of declining health.  Marilyn was born in New Bedford, MA. to Hubert Reese and Alice May (Rae) Cunningham. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Myron Pacheco with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

Marilyn graduated from Saint Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 and worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of positions throughout her career. After raising five children, she returned to school to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree at Bridgewater State College where she graduated in 1987.

Marilyn was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Bedford and had also attended the Falmouth Church of the Nazarene.  Marilyn  worshiped God through music and song, participation in her church community, and ministering to acutely ill patients in the hospital as a chaplain.

She had a keen interest in researching her ancestry.  She was a member of The Mayflower Society. Her research revealed a relation to the Pilgrims and to Governor William Bradford.

Marilyn will be remembered for so many things  including: her loving heart, fabulous hand knit afghans, her impeccably coordinated outfits, her uncanny ability to remember   birthdays and anniversaries, and her love of ice cream.

Survivors include : her five children, Robert S. Pacheco, Bethany P. Larson, Leslie D Caesar, Keith D. Pacheco, and Andrew P. Pacheco, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great- great-grandchild, her beloved brother, Paul Cunningham, 2 nieces, 3 great-nieces, and 1 great- nephew.

The family of Marilyn Rae Pacheco wish to invite friends to a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life at The First Church of the Nazarene, Hathaway Road, New Bedford, MA on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2 PM. Reception to follow in the Church Recreation Hall.
