NEW BEDFORD: Lydia (Duarte) DeMedeiros, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Mario Jorge DeMedeiros.

She was born in New Bedford, to the late Jeremias and Lidia (Silva) Oliveira. A communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was employed as a Bank Teller for Bank of America.

Survivors include her husband of New Bedford, two sons Phillip J. DeMedeiros and his wife Nancy, and Joey DeMedeiros and his wife Connie all of Fairhaven, one brother Victor Oliveira and his wife Margaret of Fairhaven. Also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandson, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jeremias Oliveira, Alberto Oliveira, Dolores Cunha and Leonora Raposo.

Visiting hours will be Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday at 8 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford.
