NEW BEDFORD: Humberto B. Sousa, 81, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after battling pancreatic cancer for most of 2018.  He was the husband of Kathleen (Medeiros) Sousa of New Bedford.

He is survived by his 2 sons: David H. Sousa and his wife, Elizabeth of Dartmouth, and Michael J. Sousa and his wife, Lisa of Rehoboth. A brother, Emilio B. de Sousa and his wife Angela of Gilroy, CA, and a sister Conceicao Freitas and her husband, Julio of Nabais, Portugal.  He is also survived by his 4 beloved granddaughters: Tori Sousa, Taylor Sousa, Raquel Sousa and Liza Sousa and many nieces and nephews.  He also left behind his faithful companion, Lightning – his African grey parrot.

He was a communicant of St. James church and up until his death, was still working at Sousa Advertising.  Humberto was an avid Sporting fan, loved his family and felt that red wine cured most ailments.  He traveled the world, lived life to the fullest and left a tremendous legacy for his family.  He will be missed by all.
