NEW BEDFORD: Henrique Medeiros, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital after a period of declining health. He was the husband of 60 years to Olga  M. (dos Santos) Medeiros.

Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Miguel, Azores to the late Guilherme Augusto and Gilda (de Medeiros) Medeiros.  A parishioner of the former St. the Baptiste Church and Our Lady of the Mt. Carmel Church. He was formerly employed at the Maintenance Dept., at Roth Textile until his retirement. Mr. Medeiros was a former member of Senhor da Pedra Club, Centro Luso, New Bedford Sports and Club Uniao Faialense.

Survivors include his wife of New Bedford; a son Henry W. and his wife Helen Kirby Medeiros of New Bedford; four sisters Maria Terra, Maria Soares both of New Bedford, Diamantina Costa  of Gardener, MA, and Fatima Vicente of St. Miguel, nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Maria C. Botelho, Cidalia Costa, Gilda Medeiros and Guilherme Medeiros.

Visiting hours will be Friday, August 02, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday at 7:45 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Mt. Carmel Church, Rivet Street, New Bedford. Interment at Rural Cemetery.
