NEW BEDFORD; Andre De Arede, 71, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Thursday, September 12, 2019, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Lina De Arede.

He was born in Prestimo, Agueda, Portugal to the late Antonio De Arede and Maria (Arede) De Arede. A communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, formerly employed as a Machine Operator  at American Flexible until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of New Bedford, a son Jason S. De Arede and his companion Gillian Gardner of Woburn, MA, a daughter Cristina De Arede Ferreira and her husband Scott of Rochester, MA, a brother Elizio De Arede of Portugal, two sisters Silvina Pereira of Portugal and Aida Alexandre of New Bedford. Also survived by three grandchildren Mila Ferreira, Lucas Ferreira and Madison Gardner, several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Manuel De Arede, Jose De Arede, Maria Araujo and Cipriana Lopes.

Visiting hours will be Monday, September 16, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
