NEW BEDFORD: Beatriz Amaral, 97, of Eugenia Street, died at Hathaway Manor, Monday, January 10, 2022 after a brief illness. 

She was the wife of the late Heitor P. Amaral. Daughter of the late Joao Frias Melo and Maria Gloria Pacheco. She was born in New Bedford, MA. Mrs. Amaral was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was employed by Cliftex Corp. until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Amalgamated Local 377.

Survivors include a son George Amaral, a daughter Alice Medeiros; four grandchildren Sandra, Christine, Renee and Jayme; nine great-grandchildren Ryan, Kayla, Olivia, Sophia, Tyler, Dahlia, Nora, Joseph and Tucker; four great-great-granddaughters Regan, Autumn, Makenna and Beatriz.

Her visiting hours will be Saturday morning, January 15, 2022 from 7:45 AM to 9 AM, at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Her funeral mass will follow at 9:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at St. John Cemetery.
