Obituary
NEW BEDFORD: David Sousa Bispo, 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Delia E. (Maiato) Bispo.
David was born in Sao Miguel, Azores and was the loved son of the late Manuel De Sousa Bispo and Maria Dos Anjos (Raposo) Bispo. He had been a Portuguese Air Force Veteran as search and rescue. After his service in the Air Force, he was married and moved to New Bedford in 1975. He then moved with his family to California in 1986. He had gone to work to Gillig Corporation in California. He was a devoted catholic involved with eucharistic ministry, he also sang in the church choir. He moved back to Massachusetts in March of 2022 to be with his son and daughter -in-law.
David is survived by his son, John Paul Bispo and his wife Marlene Bispo; his sister Maria Manuela Medeiros and her daughter Christy Morata and her husband and daughters, also his friends and family from California and Massachusetts.
His funeral mass will be Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 at 9 AM, with his cremains present at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet Street, New Bedford.
