NEW BEDFORD: David Oliveira Silvestre, 91, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Care One at New Bedford, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Olga Maria (Roque) Silvestre.
He was born in Relva, St. Miguel, Azores to the late David D. Silvestre and Almerinda A. (Massa) Silvestre. Formerly employed at Chamberlain Mfg. as a Machine Operator, until his retirement. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, and Whaling City Club.
He is survived by two sons Carlos Silvestre of Freetown, John Silvestre of Rehoboth, a daughter Coralia Moniz of St. Miguel, Azores, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Thursday morning, July 16, 2020 from 9 to 10 AM, due to the current restrictions, the amount of people is limited to ten (10) at each time, and every one have to wear a face-mask, at the same day a funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. All are welcome to attend, however only 100 people are allowed in the church at one time.
Arrangements are by the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
