NEW BEDFORD: Horacio S. Rebelo, 92, passed away Monday, November 09, 2020 at home, surrounded by his loving wife and family after a period of declining health. He was the husband of 64 years to Lucilia (Resendes) Rebelo.
He was born in Achada, St. Miguel, Azores to the late Manuel S. Rebelo and Maria (Sousa) Rebelo. A communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, formerly employed as a Laborer at Construction Industry, until his retirement. Mr Rebelo was a member of the Massachusetts Laborers Union, and St. Michael Club.
He is survived by his wife of New Bedford, a son Ceasar Rebelo and his wife Shirley of New Bedford, two grandchildren Eric Rebelo and Traci Rodrigues, two great-grandchildren Eric Rebelo Jr, and Mila Rodrigues, several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Please be advised that due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, there are strict guidelines that must be adhered to for the safety of everyone. You must wear a face-covering to be allowed entry to the funeral home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Friday, Nov. 13 at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street,. New Bedford, however due to the current restrictions, only 100 people are allowed in the Church at one time, and every one have to wear also a face-covering. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
