Obituary
NEW BEDFORD: Isaura (Medeiros)Tavares, 90, passed away peacefully with family by her side at her home in New Bedford, on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was 90. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose R. Tavares to whom she was married for over 40 years.
She is survived by six children, Lucia Arruda of Wareham, Evelina Cordeiro of Canada, Fatima M. Vicente of New Bedford, Jose M Tavares of Florida, Fernando J. Tavares of Acushnet, Joao P. Tavares of Acushnet. She is also survived by many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by three of her daughters Adelaide Borges, Venilde Rocha, and Graca Correira.
Her visiting hours will be Monday morning, February 14, 2022, from 8 to 9:45 AM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on the same day at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Rivet Street, New Bedford. Interment at St. John Cemetery.
For the safety of everyone, you MUST wear a face-covering to enter the funeral home and church.
