Obituary

NEW BEDFORD: Joao “Otavio” Raposo, 63, of New Bedford passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. He was the husband of the late Dora Raposo. Son of the late Joel and Irene Raposo. Mr. Raposo was born in Arrifes São Miguel, Açores.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Sousa and wife Carmen; Patricia Clark and her husband Dennis, Jonathan Raposo and his wife Kelly, Dorothy Raposo and her husband Steven, Grace Pontes and her husband Jason.

He was a loving grandfather to his nine grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, and Joshua Sousa. Jaedyn Clark, Aiden and Mason Raposo, Wayde and Harrison Rodrigues, Caleb Pontes.

He is also survived by his siblings, Duarte Raposo of New Bedford, Jose Luis Raposo of Canada, Joel Raposo of Westport, Olivia Raposo of New Bedford, Juvenal Raposo of New Bedford, Emanuel Raposo of New Bedford, Grace Ramos of New Bedford, Lucia Raposo of New Bedford, Rui Raposo of Texas, and Victor Raposo of Texas.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his grave side services on Monday at 11:45 AM at Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
