Obituary
New Bedford-Jose Furtado Pacheco, 92, of New Bedford, passed away after a period of declining health, at Saint Luke’s Hospital on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. He was the husband of the late Adelina (Moniz) Pacheco.
Mr. Pacheco was born in Achadinha, Saint Michael, Azores the son of the late Jose Furtado Matias and Maria Pacheco (DeMedeiros). A long-time resident of New Bedford and a communicant of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was employed as a packer for the Frinor Co.
He is survived by his son Jose Martin Pacheco and his wife Esmeralda of Dartmouth, MA. Grandchildren Kyle and Emmanuel Pacheco and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was the father of the late Joao DeDeus Moniz Pacheco.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 7, from 5-7 pm in the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 North Front Street, New Bedford, MA relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8, at 9:00 am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St. New Bedford, MA.
