NEW BEDFORD: Jose F Medeiros, 88, of New Bedford, died Tuesday December 1, 2020 at home after a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Angelo and Liduina (Rebello) Medeiros. He was the husband of 54 years to Carmen (Gonsalves) Medeiros.
Born in Feteira Pequena, Nordeste, Sao Miguel, Azores. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a member of the Laborers Union 385 and St. Michael Club, where he served as president as well as other positions in the past. He enjoyed gardening, watching Sporting Club, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survived by his wife Carmen, his daughter, Nancy Dupont and her husband Maurice Dupont of Fairhaven; his son Steven Medeiros and his partner Kelli Reagan Lauzon of Fairhaven; his granddaughters Sarah Dupont of Fairhaven, and Katherine and Madeline Medeiros of Billerica; his sister Silvana Carreiro and sister-in-law Lillian Medeiros, both of New Bedford; and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was the brother of the late Maria Resendes, Clotilde Soares, Antonio Medeiros, and Noe Medeiros.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, December 06, 2020 from 2 to 4 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Please be advised that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are strict guidelines that must be adhered to for the safety of everyone. You must wear a face-covering to be allowed entry to the services. Guests will be permitted to pay their respects and depart to allow the next guest to enter. Capacity at the funeral home will be limited. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Monday at 9 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Due to the current restriction, only 100 people are allowed in the church at one time. Everyone must wear a face-covering. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
