NEW BEDFORD: Leonildo "Lenny" P. Raposa, 95, passed away at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home, on Saturday, April 04, 2020 after a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Manuel P. Raposa and Mary P. (Correia) Raposa.
He was a lifelong resident of New Bedford area, a parishioner of the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Mr. Raposa served in the U.S. Army during the WWII and later worked as a Court Officer at Commonwealth of Mass Trial Court.
He was a member of Panthers A.C. Bar Manager, Senhor da Pedra Club, American Legion Post I, Disable American Veterans, Chapter # 7, National Association of Government, Employers Local 254 AFLCIO. Loved to travel all over the world, take daily walks, a fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Soccer. In his younger days loved to skate and pigeon racing.
He is survived by a niece Cynthia Wilkinson, two great nieces Ashley and Stephanie Wilkinson, three great-great nephews Izaiah, Josiah and Michael. Also a great-great niece Asia. He was the brother of the late Lydia Amaral.

Due to the current restrictions, his visitation, funeral, and burial will be private for immediate family. A public Memorial Mass will be held at the later date.
