Manuel Jose DeMelo

Manuel Jose deMelo, 77, of New Bedford passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 after a long, courageous battle. He was born in Feteira Grande, Saint Michael, Azores and has lived in New Bedford, Massachusetts since 1969. Manuel was a soldier in the Portuguese Armed Forces, then worked as a landscaper in The United States. He loves fishing, gardening, and riding his trike around New Bedford. Manuel is survived by his wife Maria Inez deMelo; his son Steven deMelo; and his daughter Kelly Correira and her husband Manuel Correira. He has four grandchildren: Justin, Noah, Jadyn, and Haden and three great grandchildren: Vivianna, Braelynn, and Jaxsin; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 1, from 5-7pm at Cabral Baylies SquareLamoureux Funeral Home, 512 North Front Street, New Bedford, MA. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 2, at 8:30 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford, MA. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery 1100 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford,
