NEW BEDFORD; Manuel Rebelo Jr., 45, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 19, 2021. He was the son of Beatriz Borges and the late Manuel Rebelo.
Manny was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. He was educated in the New Bedford public schools, attended Greater New Bedford Vocational High School, and then graduated from New
Bedford High School. Manny loved and had a passion for art, music, sports, and cooking. He was a great athlete who enjoyed playing all sports, but particularly loved hockey and was a member of the varsity ice hockey team at Greater New Bedford Vocational High School.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Beatriz Borges; beloved daughters, Marisa Rebelo and Elyse Rebelo-Tavares; sisters, Grace Dias and Michelle Fisher; brothers, Michael Rebelo,
Daniel Rebelo, and Stephen Rebelo; and several nieces and nephews.
Manny always enjoyed being with his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Manny’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square Funeral Home, 512 North Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Monday 29, 2021 at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
