Maria Inez (Souza) Oliveira

NEW BEDFORD; Maria Inez (Souza) Oliveira, 92, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late  Jose Duarte Oliveira.

She was born in Fenais D'Ajuda, St. Miguel, Azores to the late Manuel Simao de Souza and Maria Escolastica Melo Afonso. She was a communicant of the Mount Carmel Church.

She is survived by two sons; Arnaldo S. Oliveira and his wife Maria Odete of Dartmouth, Jose A. Oliveira and his wife Fatima of New Bedford, two daughters Maria Laudalina Vidinha and her husband Valdomiro, Ana Margarida Oliveira and her husband Alberto, both of New Bedford, fourteen grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren.

Her visiting hours will be Thursday, June 01, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No Front Street, New Bedford, Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Friday at 10 AM at Mount Carmel Church, Rivet Street, New Bedford. Interment at St. John Cemetery.
