Obituary

NEW BEDFORD: Maria Margarida (Medeiros) Botelho, 92, passed away Saturday, July 09, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Manuel Fagundo Botelho.

She was born in Povoacao, St. Miguel, Azores to the late Joao Adriano de Medeiros and Eugenia Vital Santos de Medeiros. Formerly employed as a housekeeper at Hotel Industries, until her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter Maria F. Resendes and her husband of New Bedford, two brothers Virgilio S. Medeiros of Canada, Jose S. Medeiros of Portugal, two sisters Maria B. Vieira of Mansfield, Adriana S. Medeiros of Azores. eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Joao F. Botelho, Manuela M. Resendes, sister of the late Antonio S. Medeiros, Maria C. Medeiros Alexandrina M. Santos.

Her visiting hours will be Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 3 to 6 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford, Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Monday at 9 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at Pine Gove Cemetery.
