Obituary
NEW BEDFORD: Maria Teresa (Pacheco) Maucabelo, 97, of New Bedford, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022. She was the wife of the late Jose De Medeiros Maucabelo. Teresa was born in Fenais D'Ajuda, Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Manuel Xavier and Maria G. Sousa.
She is survived by her children Berta Pereira, Albertina Martins, Debra Mendonca, Ilidio De Medeiros, and Jose Manuel De Medeiros She was the loving grandmother to seventeen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters Natalia Xavier, Tina Xavier and Isaltina Daponte, several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Carlos A. Medeiros, Eduarda Correia, great-grandmother of the late Kevin Santos Jr., and Gabriel Silva, sister of the late Maria Melo, Jouventina Xavier, Amancio Xavier, Germano Xavier and Manuel Pacheco.
Her visiting hours will be Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, from 5 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Friday at 9 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at St. John Cemetery.
