NEW BEDFORD: Miguel Frias, 89, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital after a period of declining health. He was the husband of 67 years to Alda (Farias) Frias.
He was born in Santa Barbara, St. Miguel, Azores to the late Antonio de Farias and Maria (da Conceicao) de Farias. A parishioner of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mr. Frias was formerly employed as a Custodian at the former Isotronic Corp., until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Alda (Farias) Frias of New Bedford; two sons Miguel Farias and his wife Connie, John Frias and his companion Debbie Brum, all of New Bedford; two daughters Maria Duarte and her husband Alex, of New Bedford, Connie Sa and her husband Leonardo of Acushnet, four sisters Virginia Soares of Fall River, Helena Farias of Canada, Julia Ferreira of Canada, Maria dos Anjos Farias of St. Miguel. Also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Danny Frias, brother of the late Maria Farias, Mariana Farias, Teresa Medeiros, Antonio Farias, Jose Farias, Manuel Farias.
His visiting hours will be Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Saturday at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
