NEW BEDFORD: Roberto Amaral, 57, passed away on Tuesday, January 05, 2021, after a brief illness of Cancer at home, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Liberalina Amaral and the late Aniel Amaral.
He was born in Lomba de Sao Pedro, St. Miguel, Azores and he lived in the US for 30 years. Formerly employed as a laborer at local Construction Industries.
He is survived by his mother Liberalina Amaral of New Bedford, two brothers Acaciel Amaral and his wife Marta Amaral of Toronto, Canada, Jose Amaral and his partner Paula Bento of New Bedford, three sisters Paula Jones of Fairhaven, Nesia Bueno and her husband Pedro of Fairhaven, Raquel Encarnacao and her husband John of Rochester, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Aliciano Amaral.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM at Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his religious services on Monday at 9 AM at the funeral home by the Pastor Jose Moniz.

Please practice social distancing and avoid close contact. Guests will be permitted to pay their respects to the family and depart to allow the next guests to enter. Capacity at the funeral home will be limited so there could be wait times outside the funeral home. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
