OBITUARY: Rosa Ines (Bairos) Braga, 88, of New Bedford, passed away at Alden Court Nursing Care on Monday, September 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Manuel T. Braga.
Born on July 11, 1933, in Almagreira, Island of Santa Maria, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose de Bairos and Maria E. (De Sousa) Bairos. She worked as an Assembler at the former Cornell Dubilier Electrical Company, until her retirement. A parishioner of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking for her family. Rosa was such a loving and generous person, undoubtedly, by those who shared closely Rosa will be greatly missed. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.
She survived by three sons; Antonio M. Braga and his wife Tina, Jose Braga and his wife Bernadette, Jose Fernando Braga all of New Bedford, two brothers Joao Bairos of New Bedford, Germano Bairos of Canada, a sister Inez Freitas of Canada, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Friday, October 01 at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at St. John Cemetery.
