Obituary
NEW BEDFORD: Thomas "Tom" C. Lister, 89, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022. He was the husband of the late Emiliana “Millie” (Camara) Lister. The son of the late Thomas and Alice (Shard) Lister.
Mr. Lister was a lifelong New Bedford resident and the former proprietor of the Town Shoppe, Julie’s Place, and Mark Distributors. He ended his professional career as an agent with Bankers Life and Casualty Company.
Survivors include his son Thomas Lister and his wife Susan of Swansea, daughter-in-law Cecile B. Lister of Acushnet, and brother Robert (Bob) Lister of Fairhaven. He is also survived by four grandchildren Meghan L. Hansen, Thomas D. Lister, Jeffrey D. Lister and Amy N. Guile; seven great-grandchildren Jack, Max, Grace, Carter, Pierce, Landon and Luke; and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Dave Lister, and brother of the late Janice Caron.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend visiting hours on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Interment immediately following at South Dartmouth Cemetery.
