PROVIDENCE; Valentina Carvalho, 78, of New Bedford died peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on December 30,2021. She was the daughter of the late Antonio C. and Maria C. (Carvalho) Roque.
Born in Arrifes, Concelho de Ponta Delgada, St Miguel, Azores, residing in New Bedford. A Communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Church Church and Our Lady of Holy Rosary Society. Mrs. Valentina was formerly employed at Aerovox.
Survivors include her two sons Carlos Verissimo of New Bedford and Manuel Verissimo of St. Miguel. Two sisters
Maria Flor and Maria Mendes of New Bedford two brothers John Carvalho of Acushnet and Jose A Carvalho Roque of St. Miguel. One granddaughter Angie Verissimo of New Bedford.
She was the sister of the late Olga Silvestre and Maria Cabral.
Her visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 05, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Thursday at 9 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
