Obituary
NEW BEDFORD: Virginia Marie Furtado, of Dartmouth, formerly of New Bedford, peacefully passed away at the age of 68 on August 2, 2022, after a period of declining health.
Virginia was born in New Bedford, MA to Virginio Furtado and Mary (Pereira) Furtado. She graduated from New Bedford High School in 1974.
Even when ill, Virginia was never angry, sad or depressed. She always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile and always spoke her mind, but never complained. She was well cared for by the wonderful staff at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth.
Virginia was so special; she represented the good that we all need every day in our lives. We are proud to have been able to call Virginia our sister, Aunt, Family and Friend.
She is survived by her sisters, Rita M. Smith, Louisa E. Furtado, Elaine R. Green and Katherine A. Furtado, her brother-in-law, Thomas Green, many nieces and nephews and best friend,
Jessica Miranda who cared for her for so many years and opened her home to Virginia.
